Internet speed for Google Meet
Targets for stable Meet calls — and what to check when quality drops.
Internet speed for Google Meet
Google Meet call quality depends heavily on upload and connection stability.
Practical targets (per active participant)
- HD video call: ~3–6 Mbps upload
- Group calls + screen share: aim higher (8+ Mbps upload) to keep quality steady
If you still get glitches
Check these diagnostics:
- loaded latency: does latency spike during downloads/uploads?
- jitter: is latency stable minute-to-minute?
- packet loss: even 1–2% sustained loss can hurt real-time calls
If issues appear only on Wi‑Fi, test closer to the router or use Ethernet.
